CHARLOTTE TILBURY FILMSTAR BRONZE & GLOW: MEDIUM TO DEEP

If you read my last post you'd know that I recently splurged on one of the most coveted Charlotte Tilbury products, her Filmstar Bronze & Glow contour and highlight duo. I'd always had my eye on this and contemplated purchasing it many times before but being the over analyser that I am, looked up swatches, watched countless youtube videos and read reviews, and found that the original duo was pretty much only worth it to those with a lighter skintone. I mean, the packaging alone almost made me do it but I wasn't about to purchase something this expensive and not get my money's worth, y'know what I'm saying?
In comes a new duo, this time for medium to deep skintones. As soon as I saw that it was released at the same time that I'd been itching to go makeup shopping, I knew it was the gods telling me that I had to have it.

I'm in love with the vintage feel of the packaging, it's so glamorous and classy, and who isn't a sucker for nice packaging?! You definitely get what you pay for with this product.
I honestly have not stopped using this palette ever since I got it. At first I was afraid I wouldn't be able to use the darker shade for contour because it has quite a bit of a sheen to it when you look at it in the pan and also, it didn't look like it'd be dark enough. As soon as I put it on using my NARS ita brush, I was surprised at how much I loved it. You couldn't see any of the sheen whatsoever, it blended perfectly into the hollows of my cheeks and gave me the definition I needed.
The highlight shade is a beautiful orange-copper shade that I use more on top of my blush for a bronzey glow. Only because it's quite subtle and everyone knows that I need my highlight seen from space. Although it would be perfect for those days where you don't want to overload on highlighter (not sure I know what that feels like).
I'd say this is one of those products where you'd be devastated to hit pan on, because you don't want to ruin it's beauty but you just can't get yourself to stop using it. That's how I feel anyway.

COLLECTIVE BEAUTY HAUL

Makeup shopping is by far my favourite type of retail therapy. Whether I'm in a store or shopping online, it never fails to make me feel like a little kid in a candy store.
Are you ready?
Here's my collective makeup haul for the month of August! Most I've acquired online and some I've bought in store. Let's start off with the online purchases, shall we?

False lashes from LOVeyelashes - this is where I usually stock up on my lashes, which I've needed to do for a while now. I chose mainly wispy but long lashes this time around and I'm so happy I've got a good range to choose from!
Cocoa Blend eyeshadow palette, two eye and two face brushes from Zoeva - a blush brush, highlight brush and more blending brushes. One can never have too many blending brushes. This palette is amazing. Come on, look at these shades - could you pass up this beauty? I've used it twice now and find the shadows so buttery and blend so easy.

Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow from Beautylish - This is something I've been lusting over for ages, but I found the original two shades just weren't right for my skintone. Then recently, CT  brought out a Med-Deep shade, so you know I snatched that up quick.
TooFaced Glitter Glue and Urban Decay lipgloss in 'kinky' from Mecca - This nude lipgloss by Urban Decay is absolutely beautiful (not sure about the name though...). Super pigmented and not too sticky. The glitter glue was purchased with my MAC le disko shadows in mind, and boy, does it make a world of a difference.

MAC lipsticks in Whirl, Antique Velvet, Stone, Persistence, Cyber and lip prep+prime straight from the MAC website - Obviously had to get the new MAC matte collection as soon as they came out (minus Cyber) - loving them so far but I did get a lot of stares with Stone on my lips. Not sure how I feel about that.

In store purchases include the L'oreal Infallible 24-hour matte foundation - I'm not a matte finish type of girl but seeing it on Desi Perkins definitely made me want to try it. Inglot Duraline was purchased specifically for my Inglot 77 gel liner - 1 drop of this baby livened my liner back up again! Lifesaver.
Went into Sephora Sydney for the very first time since it opened late last year and purchased the Tarte Tartelette palette, another all matte palette I didn't need but had to have, Becca Mineralised blush in 'Songbird', a Jaclyn Hill recommendation, Kat Von D 'Lolita' lipstick and a back up of the MUFE mist+fix since I'm almost out and it's my holy grail finishing spray!

I know I went a tad bit crazy butttt... okay I KNOW this is a shitload of makeup to buy in a span of 3 weeks. But trust me when I say I don't buy anything I won't use. I do my fair share of research, look through countless reviews and make sure I'll get use out of a product. So... Don't judge me. K!?
Let me know if you've got any of these products and what you think of them, I would love to hear your thoughts! And if you'd like an in-depth review or swatches of any of the products, I'd love to do that for you.
'Til next time.

COMFY STRIPES.

Did some retail therapy on the weekend and wore this super adorbs dress MARKET HQ were kind enough to send me. It's a piece by MinkPink that can easily be dressed up or down and was perfect for a sunny winter's day in Sydney. I paired it with a studded leather jacket to give it an edge, my new cross body bag that you'll see more of in an upcoming fashion haul post and cons to keep my feet from falling off from all the walking. Sigh, first world problems right?
Hope you enjoy!

GET READY WITH US! TWIN EDITION.

So I thought it'd be fun to film my sister, Roni and I getting ready to go out.
We live together so we often get ready at the same time (she's usually in her room though) if we're going to the same event, which is 90% of the time.
Yes, I do her eye makeup for every special occasion because she is too lazy to learn herself - she says I make it too convenient for her and that's the reason why she still hasn't been able learn. Makes sense in a way. She's lucky that I don't mind!
We both went for bold eyes and nude lips - it's been my go-to night time look lately.
Can you tell that we can't get ready without listening to music?
I hope you enjoy this video. Any questions on any products we used, leave me a comment and I'll be happy to let you know!

WHAT I WORE | faux leather & neutrals

Went to a surprise birthday dinner for a good friend last night in the city.
Opted for a simple and sleek look with this ribbed cropped long sleeve and a faux leather midi skirt that coincidentally matched my new nail colour, paired with a nude simple stated heel. Such a nice, low maintenance outfit and I really love how it turned out.

LET ME UPDATE YA.

How are we?
Been a minute since I've done a written post. I feel like just typing away so here's a little personal update for you beautiful people.
First things first, I've started working! Yes, after almost 2 years of being out of the work scene, I am back. Not permanently, and it's only three days a week but hey, it's somethin'. If you're wondering why I haven't been working for almost two years, that's because I was, up until Monday, a full-time mama. My son is only a year old and I can't bear to put him into daycare just yet. Most mummies will agree with me when I say we don't want to miss out on our kids while they're babies. Because as soon as they are in school (like my daughter), all of a sudden you don't know where the time went and they're talking back and telling white lies and refusing to eat their lunch. Sigh.
Anyway, an opportunity came up for me to work part-time at a car dealership with my sister -  doing a different role, and I took it! Beez and I had talked about me going back to work for a while now, not because we need the extra income (Beez is killing it in that department), but because I just need to get out of the house sometimes and see new faces. Stay-at-home mums know what I mean. So yes! That's my biggest update so far.
Um, can we talk about my new blog template? Isn't it amazing? I frickin LOVE it. It's exactly how I wanted my blog to look. Minimal, modern, monochrome. Not too busy and easy to navigate. Do you love?
What else? Oh, we're going on our first ever holiday as a family. We're only going interstate, to sunny Queensland, because a long overseas plane ride + baby = TORTURE for everybody on that plane and I'm just not down for that. I refuse to be that parent who's child/children is losing their shit because they're scared of the turbulence or their ears pop or they simply can't keep still in their seat/can't comprehend why they can't just run around and do whatever they want. We'll be in QLD at the start of next month, the beginning of Spring. I can't wait to take the kids to Dreamworld and just explore and spend quality time as a family in a different place.
You guys might've seen in my latest vlog (last post) that I've gone lighter! My hair, I mean. About two weeks ago I went to my friend's salon and she worked her magic on me. I had fine foils put in as opposed to a full head of colour, because my hair was pretty damaged from the last few times I'd gotten it bleached in a desperate attempt to go grey. I got over it quickly and was so thankful Cindy took care of my hair as best as she could. And then, she hooked a gurl up! With so much hair treatments and care products. I vowed to take care of my hair as much as I take care of my skin and hopefully will have long, luscious locks in no time.
The last half of the year is without a doubt, always, the busiest time for me. So many family members' and friends' birthdays to even count. I just know it's going to be a hectic time. Exhausting, but I just love it.
I've also been trying to be more consistent with my training lately. I try to go to the gym at least three out of seven days, hopefully all these birthdays and events and holidays I've got planned don't ruin my streak. I've learned to really love it and my body's started to feel pretty crappy when I haven't gone in a couple days. I guess that's a good thing. Eating healthy is just another battle in itself. I am too easily tempted although I am trying to resist. It will take some time to cut all the bad stuff out, but I'll get there one day!
On a different note, I have been completely addicted to two tv series' lately. The 100 and Orphan Black. If you're looking for new shows to get into, those two would be my top recommendations for the moment. The 100 has a couple of Aussies in it that I recognized from Neighbours and Home and Away back in the day, making me love it even more and Orphan Black is just too intense to not binge watch.

Well. This post has turned into quite the life story hasn't it. My son is waking up from his nap so I should end it here. Okay, one more thing.
Thanks for all the love I've been getting lately on my blog. I check my stats every couple of days just out of curiousity and my page views per day have gone up by hundreds in the last couple weeks. Not to mention the international readers?! Crazy. This is purely a hobby and it's so weird to me that other people actually come on here and are interested in what I have to say.
Anyway. Gotta go. Hope you enjoyed this "little" update. 'Til next time.
